Drop off & Pick up Policy  

Drop off:

Caregivers must arrive at our meeting place with their child no later than 9 am each day. We expect your child to be dressed appropriately for the weather with any gear (gloves, hat, boots, etc.) already on. A child who arrives when the other children are already involved in play can feel frustrated and can have a more difficult day.

Pick Up:

Caregivers are required to pick up their child by their designated time. A child who is picked up late can become anxious and teachers who have worked a full day need to be able to count on leaving their job promptly. Being on time is a significant contributor to the job satisfaction of all of our teachers and the happiness of our children.

Parents arriving after their designated time will be penalized as follows:

1. First violation within 1 calendar month: Caregiver will be charged a per-child late fee of $10 for arrival between 1 and 5 minutes late, and an additional $25 for arrival between 6 and 15 minutes late.

2. Second violation within one calendar month: Caregiver will be charged a per-child late fee of $20 for arrival between 1 and 5 minutes late, and an additional $50 for arrival between 6 and 15 minutes late.

3. Third violation within one calendar month: Caregiver will be charged a per-child late fee of $40 for arrival between 1 and 5 minutes late, and an additional $100 for arrival between 6 and 15 minutes late.

If there are four or more violations in one calendar month a meeting will be set up with the parents, the director, and teachers to discuss the continuation of classes at MOS.

Please note that all late fees will be added to the parent’s tuition bill.

If the child’s caregiver has not arrived to pick up their child and cannot be reached by phone within 15 minutes of their designated pick-up time, we will call the emergency contacts listed on their release forms. The Department of Social Services and/or the Maplewood Police Department will be contacted if parents cannot be contacted or do not arrive within 30 minutes of their designated pick-up time.
