When possible we will attend special events and explore nature with our child as part of this learning community.

Outdoor Play *

We love that our child will participate in an immersive outdoor learning program! We encourage our child to explore nature in all seasons and habitats, including exploration in or near water, ice, snow, and mud. We welcome the benefits of taking risks and encouraging messy, active, whole-body play!

Gear *

We will check the weather each day before class and provide essential gear (dress our child accordingly) to ensure our child gets the most out of their time outdoors. The gear will keep your child comfortable in every season. If you can not provide gear you can ask for support.

Arrival *

We will be prompt for drop off every day. I understand that if I arrive more than 5 minutes after the start of class, I may have to call the teachers and hike to another location to find the class. My child will come prepared with a backpack, a full water bottle, and a nut-free snack. My child will come dressed for immersive outdoor learning, no matter the weather.

Pick-up *

Pick-Up

We will promptly pick-up our child at the end of class. Upon signing out my child, the caregiver will be responsible for the child's safety and wellbeing and will ensure the child is not left unattended at any time and does not run into the parking lot. If they must go home with another adult, I will provide a written note or email stating permission in advance and that adult will have to show ID.

Safety *

We will provide accurate information about our child’s health (allergies, medical conditions, medications, etc.) and make sure that teachers have accurate, up to date contact information in case of emergency.

Illness *

We don’t want staff or other children to get sick. We will keep our child home if they are ill with a fever, rash, contagious illness, or other discomforts that prevents full participation in vigorous outdoor play. If your child becomes ill while in our care, we will call home for immediate pick-up.

Tools *

We encourage children to use real tools under the careful supervision of adults.

Respect *

We will work together to cultivate trust, respect, gratitude, and friendship in our learning community. We will always show respect to each other, the faculty, and the land we explore. Where possible, we will express gratitude through service to the community.

Communication

We agree to download Slack and stay up to date with weekly and daily updates

Tuition

By accepting and enrolling your child in the Maplewood Outside School you are committed to honoring your enrollment/tuition for all tuition payments selected at checkout. All payments are non-refundable, non-transferable, and must be submitted by the date noted on your chosen payment plan.
